Love is a decision!

If someone was fickle with their affection with me,
If someone trusted me one day and then not another,
If someone praised me one day and then shrunk in fear the next moment,
If someone tested me time after time,
If someone refused to listen and then blamed me for their failures,
If someone was unfaithful and loved another,
How then could I love them?
How then could I meet their needs?
How then could I trust them with what is precious to me?
How could I wrap my arms around them?
Could I depend upon them again?
God loved the Israelites!
He made a decision to love them though they never truly understood love?
He made a commitment to love them though they never returned his love?
Dear God, help me love as you are able to love!
